Status
After entering college, I have halted many of my recreatonal activities.
One of these is programming HTAG.
If you are curious, I can revive it, let me know.
The below sections have not been updated since summer of 2004.
Summary
HTAG is an acronym for Htam's Text Adveture Game.
As the name suggests, it is a text-only, adventure game.
I write (note the tense) this in my spare time.
It is not even near completed.
If you played MUD's before, you will grasp the concept easily.
If you want to do some basic socket programming in C++, feel free to enquire about the source code.
Update
HTAG is currently offline (2004.08) for a major rewrite and makeover.
Major changes include:
{
- Extracting bilingual support... 90%
- Subsystem architecture... 80%
- Renewed upgrading and leveling structure... 20%
- Time-delayed FIFO attack buffer... 50%
}
Events in real life (table tennis and packing) is pushing my schedule for HTAG back.
I anticipated putting HTAG back online for ALPHA testing around mid August, but now I must push it back to September.
I need to wait until the aforementioned major changes ALL reach a stable stage.
CTAG
HTAG was originally named CTAG.
CTAG is an acronym for Chinese Text Adventure Game.
It used to have bilingual support.
However, it becomes hard to maintain, due to the different GRAMMATICAL structure of the two languages:
A lot of phrases in a sentence has reveresed sequence between Chinese and English.
Therefore I stopped supporting Chinese, and the game is consequently renamed to HTAG on 2004.08.01
